Boehmite nanofibers (AlOOH)

One of the special products of EEW (electrical exploding wire) process is AlOOH nanofibers with the diameter of 2nm. Obviously, there is an additional treatment after EEW process to make these fibers.

Applications:

Water filter is the main application of these fibers. The water filters made from these nanofibers are strongly effective in removing of microorganism such as Bactria, viruses and etc by 99.9999%. Meanwhile, they are also effective in removing of heavy metals and all colloidal metals in the water.

How do these fibers work?

Nano-Boehmite is a unique electro-positive material which carries a net positive charge when immersed in the water. Approximately, a billion Nano Fibers are adhered onto a microfiber which is made from polymeric fiber. Then, billions of microfibers are placed inside the media of Nano Fiber filters. When the filter is immersed in water, the electro-positive Nano Fibers create a positively charged magnetic field of +50 mV Zeta Potential around each pore opening of the filter.

Many contaminants in the water such as particles and microorganisms carry a net negative charge. As the contaminants pass through the magnetically charged field, they are effectively caught by a process called electro-static adsorption.

PNF Co. has introduced a new under counter filtration system on the basis of nanofibers filters containing 3 stage of filtration as mentioned below:

  1. Special softener resin
  2. Carbon active + sediment filter
  3. Nano fiber filter

The main advantages of this system are:

  1. highest flow rate with the lowest pressure drop (4 liters/min)
  2. does not create waste water
  3. does not require electricity in comparison with reverse osmosis systems
  4. does not require spare tanks
  5. long life time(near 2 years for nano fiber filter)
